Art. 51. - Amending supplementary pension fund for firefighters.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1. Chapter 1155 of the Session Laws is hereby amended by rewriting Section 3 to read as follows:
"Sec. 3. Any person who is a member of the Sanford Fire Department as shown by the records of the city of Sanford, or who was a member as of July 21, 1971, or any person who shall become such a member, shall be eligible for benefits from the `Supplementary Pension Fund.' It is further provided that this act shall not modify or alter in any way the Workmen's Compensation Laws of the State of North Carolina."

Sec. 2 This act shall become effective upon ratification. The benefits described herein shall be retroactive to July 21, 1971.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 21st day of May, 1975.
