§ 13.2. Removal of offensive matter; charges a lien.

  • The City Council may by ordinance establish a procedure whereby the City forces may clean, cut, and remove any weeds, trash, refuse or other offensive matter from any property upon failure of the owner or occupant after ten days' notice to do so. In such event the cost of such cleaning, cutting and removal shall become a lien upon the particular property equal to the lien for ad valorem taxes and may thereafter be collected either by suit in the name of the City or by foreclosure of the lien in the same manner and subject to the same rules, regulations, costs and penalties as provided by law for the foreclosure of the lien on real property for ad valorem taxes.
