§ 8-18. Violations and penalties.

(a)

The violation of any provision of this chapter shall constitute a civil penalty in the amount of $250.00 and shall not be a violation of G.S. 14-4.

(b)

In addition to the penalty established by subsection (a) of this section, this chapter may be enforced by an appropriate equitable remedy issued by a court of competent jurisdiction.

(c)

Each day that a violation continues after notification that such violation exists shall constitute a separate and distinct offense for purposes of the penalties and remedies set forth in this section.

(d)

It shall be the burden of the owner to notify the code enforcement officer that the violation has been corrected.
