§ 28-8. Penalty.

A violation of this chapter or any order issued under this chapter shall be a civil offense and shall subject the offender to a civil penalty in the amount of $100.00 and shall not be a violation of G.S. 14-4. Any landowner violating this chapter shall be issued a written citation. The civil penalties may be recovered by the city in a civil action in the nature of a debt or may be collected in such other amounts as provided in this Code within the provided time following the issuance of a notice or citation for the violation.
