§ 24-32. Duties.

(a)

The police department shall, within the police jurisdiction of the city, enforce all laws and ordinances of the state and city, and shall at all times preserve the peace and protect the property and the safety of the people.

(b)

The police department shall make investigations and inspections and perform such other duties assigned to it by this Code or other ordinances, and as may be directed from time to time by the council or the city manager.
